GETTING PAID!
We do not pay talent until the client pays the agency, which is generally within thirty (30) and ninety (90) days.
You are an independent contractor and responsible for reporting all of your taxes. Leighton Agency is not your employer; therefore you cannot list the agency or our clients to collect un-employment. If you file un-employment, you need to deactivate yourself from the agency.
As an independent contractor, all Talent should maintain excellent records of their own work. Please keep record of all the information for your bookings. If you notice a job re-running, make note of when and where it was seen and notify Ruth.
It‘s very important that you notify us immediately of any address changes. We do not pay for stop payments due to address changes. You will be charged.
On union jobs (SAG or AFTRA) the clients normally will take the appropriate tax deductions. The union jobs will not be included on your 1099 form; appropriate tax forms should be received from each client. Remember any agency commission is a deduction (20% on non-union work and 10% on union work). All union talent pay 10% on all broadcast jobs.
